Project Clubfit
The Simulator room is soon to transform from a basic shell, with the place being a hive of activity this week with the following work being carried out:
All walls have been plastered and are ready for painting.
The security alarm has been installed.
Installation of the electric shutters on Friday.
All electrical work completed by Friday.
Ready for the simulator to be delivered and installation starting Monday.
We can't wait! The bar and beer fridge is arriving tomorrow too!
Work has also continued this week on the short game area despite the weather with Dave Hutchinson and his team shifting a 120 tonne delivery of Rootzone, this will be left to settle over the New Year ready for the finishing touches in the spring.
A minute with the Coach
Well my first thought each morning is "Will the driving range be dry enough to get the ball collector out today"?
It is frustrating that we have to keep closing the driving range but due to the wet soft ground the ball collector drives over the balls and pushes them underground meaning we lose too many balls. I have continued with my lessons and picked the balls up by hand, not one of my favourite pastimes. We will review the driving range on a daily basis.
While there is no tournaments, I've been having regular catch-ups with Jack Senior, fine tuning in preparation for his tour events in South Africa in the New Year.
Also with my Tour guys, some positive news this week with Gary Wolstenholme finishing 7th in the MCB Tour Championship in Mauritius, ensuring a top 30 finish for the season.
This week was the first week I didn't have to re-schedule my regular winter guys and I'm pleased to report Anthony Palmer is now "half-full". Friends of Anthony will know this is a great achievement!
May I wish you all a Merry Christmas... Mine's a Carling!
Christmas Opening Times
We are open daily from 8.30am to 4.30pm right up to 1pm on Christmas Eve for all your Christmas present ideas. It is at this time of year we remind everyone "Golfers who know buy from their Pro".
We have had many non-golfing wives and girlfriends popping in who need advice with their purchases. Don't forget WE KNOW our customers - what balls you use, what gloves you use etc. So make sure you're dropping your hints and pointing them in the right direction. With an added bonus that all partners will be entered into a prize draw to win a half pamper day at the Midland Spa including lunch.
We hope to see you all before Christmas, fingers crossed for a dry weekend for the Winter League! We are offering all our customers complimentary mince pies, mulled wine and a special Christmas dose of shop banter.
