Rain stops play....all the time, every week, every minute, in fact I can't remember a time without seeing the floor wet. But, lets take advantage of this poor rainy weather with a hoo-hah throw out sale, came up with that all by myself. Congratulations to Daniel Weatherill for scoring an Ace in last Sunday's Winter League. Daniel had his hole-in-one at the tough 11th hole, better yet securing £48 for his efforts. Twos were worth a massive £24, surprising in our Winter League where there is usually a hat full each week. Another member also had a hole-in-one but in a different, warmer and alcohol fueled environment. Congratulations to Greg Anderson, our local die hard United fan for popping a hybrid into the hole-in-one perfectly struck shot in the Swing Lounge. The course he was playing was a Mission Hills course, well known for holding the World Cup there for several years. His playing partner, Carl Sadler, finished a cool 13 shots behind... Carl found solace in trying to blame everything, but keeping the ball on the short stuff alluded the Brummie. Maybe that M2 driver on the way will help things Carl!
The Swing Lounge
The Winter League is picking up pace as our 30 teams battle it out for a new Titleist 915 driver each. The tension is high, so high Steve Jones hasn't even hit a shot yet! But do not worry, all teams will be allowed to complete their rounds and you can even book to play two to three rounds at a time. In other Swing Lounge news, our website will be live soon (www.theswinglounge.co.uk) where you can soon book a slot online, or for members you can check availability and call us to reserve you a slot. We will allow bookings as far in to the future as possible, but some regular slots to be booked will require a deposit. Greg managed a hole-in-one and we will award Greg with a special prize at the finish of the League in early April.

200 Club Draw
Despite my dad trying to take the glory I was lucky enough to bag £25 in the club's new '200 Club Draw'. Every month you can have the chance to win £100 by simply paying £5 a month by standing order to the golf club. The 200 Club would cost £5 per month by standing order or £60 per year if paying by cash or cheque. We will pay out approx 50% of the income as monthly prizes with a top prize of £100. The remaining 50% will go towards projects for improvements around the club which are proposed by the members of the 200 Club.
Example - If 200 participants donate £5 a month that equals £1,000 per month. 10 prizes would be; One £100, Two £75, Three £50, Four £25 = £500. Obviously if we had more than 200 participants then there will be more or better prizes and if we have less then there will be fewer. It is planned to hold the draw night on a set day each month in the bar. To enter come see us in the shop, speak to the office or grab a form from one of our bar staff.

Cobra have gone from strength to strength, so come along and test the new King F6 line up as well as it's famous zero CG driver, the King Ltd. This year I am playing Cobra and I am excited for you to join me in going low with Cobra, just maybe not as low as Rickie. Special offers on the day will be available!
