I trust most of you are aware the Euros is on our doorstep and then soon after is the Olympics with three golf Majors crushed in between. What a summer of sport! To keep things fresh we are embracing other sports to help keep people active and that is why we are showing the Euros LIVE in the club. Each England and home nations games will bring with it some special offers on drinks, your chance to win prizes and also the opportunity to scoff some of the food on display. The club will host a happy hour for the second half of all matches and if you're quick enough you can get a four pints pitcher for the price of three. Keep an eye out for more information. The games are listed on the golf club's Facebook page or speak to a member of staff behind the bar. Let's create a thundering atmosphere in the club and remember the games will be aired in HD on the big screen. If you fancy mixing football with golf, don't forget we have our Euros Mahtch Day Swing Lounge Package, with spaces available and you can be booked in through the shop. Let's hope the Olympics shine a positive light on the golf and brings people out playing, it worked wonders with Cycling in 2012, but my concern is the length of time it takes to play these tournaments. Will an avid sport viewer sit around and watch the golf all day, can it create some excitement? Time will tell, but I for one am looking forward to the beach volleyball! Members News
Two medals in a week have thrown up some great scores with medal wins coming from members such as Jon Sumner, Matty Hartley and Adam Bell. Ryan Grimshaw produced the lowest gross of the week on Sunday and the Clayton Qualifying race is starting to really hot up. 'Grimmy', is a nice case for us to show off how important it is to update your clubs, he has recently upgraded to the new Cobra King Tec forged irons, the same set I currently use. The summer is still a great time to upgrade your equipment as we have an absolute rake of offers available on custom fitting, read on for more about that.
A long time member Joe Greene (pictured) also got a few holes in for the first time in a while, not before being surprised by his daughter with a HGC Legacy brick; the whole idea of the project in one great picture. Captain's Drink n' Drive 9 Hole Social - Friday, 17 June
It's not what you think guys, we don't just all have a few and then drive down the bypass, with this event you leave your cars at home. The social is popular so please book ASAP on BRS with tee times available from 5pm (but going fast), I shall be involved and the concept it a doozy! Details are as follows:

Jack Senior Latest
Jack is in the middle of a three week run of tournaments where he is jetting across from the Czech Republic to Sweden and then to Austria. These events are a combination of the Challenge Tour (last week) and full European Tour events. Last week on the Challenge Tour gives Jack a boost going into this week's Nordic Masters in Sweden. A low scoring event meant Jack's -18, four round total could only grab him a tied 7th place. A nice €4,637 cheque meant it was definitely not a wasted trip and some great scoring is definitely a boost. This week in Sweden Jack started with +1 round of 73, but with five par 5's he can attack round two and hopefully he can make the cut, keep a track of his progress by clicking here.
Get into Golf
Our Get into Golf sessions cost £25 per person for five one hour group sessions. These sessions start on Tuesday, 7 June and run for five continuous weeks (6.30pm - 7.30pm). Full details are as follows:
Learn to play Golf in a Day - Saturday, 9 July (10am - 4pm)
Ryan and I will take you through a day of coaching to help introduce you to the game of golf; or bring the memories flooding back if you are thinking of taking up the game again. The day will consist of learning the basics of the long game, putting, chipping and pitching culminating in a fun skills competition. To keep the energy levels high we will break for some lunch which is included in the price. This day is fairly hands on so we will only have six - eight spaces available, so please get booked in quickly. We will provide equipment and feel free to bring friends or family to come along and watch to make you feel at ease. The cost of the session is £49 including lunch.
Short Game Masterclass - Wednesday, 29 June (4pm - 7pm)
The short game is neglected, never will I hear the words, 'my chipping is awesome'. It just doesn't happen. We want to change that with our Short Game Masterclass event, the first of many helping you achieve results and to learn HOW to practice your short game. We have the facilities, now you need the skills. Full details are as follows:

Aimed at golfers of all abilities wanting to improve their short game
Will cover techniques on chipping, putting and short pitches
Will cover practice techniques, variable practice and HOW to get better
