It's festival week, the Morecambe Bay Golf Festival is here and we are loving it, more of this please. A great mixture of events are being held as we speak at Heysham, Morecambe and Lancaster, a wonderful trio of courses and a week we welcome in, but we also don't mind seeing it leave... definitely need a beer come the end of the week. A couple of things for our readers on the festival, firstly a special mention to organiser Tony Wilkinson and all helpers for their work, not only is this festival amazing for golf but it is great for our business and the local area. 2017 it will be back, you can pick up a festival brochure that includes an entry form for next year, we have plenty in the shop so feel free to pop by and pick one up. Alternatively contact Tony on his mobile (07421 831635).
We sponsor a hole during the Bay Festival on all three courses and receive a fourball to take part in an event, we held a mini Facebook competition and welcomed Heysham member Bernhard O'Connor and his team (pictured), who took part in the Lancaster 4BBB event on Monday. Our very own Mrs D took part in the ladies event here at Heysham on Tuesday and came second with Kay, Karen and Liz of the Wright and Lord team. The weather has so far been indifferent, but we still found time to display our amazing vehicles supplied by our sponsors Lloyd South Lakes. The mini convertible goes soon, so if you want it, let us know (psssst it will be a lot cheaper than usual).
Speaking of vehicles, check out our coach Mr Done, the talented guy gave his knee a rest during lessons to have a go on his new coaching mobile... Ok so it isn't his new mode of transport, but what if it was, how cool would that be?
With a busy week ahead, I've still found time to write you a newsletter to enjoy including a sneak peek at our new autumn/winter ranges hitting the shelves next week, a nudge about our Swing Lounge Winter League and that our END OF SEASON SALE, (I'm Shouting). Ends Sunday.
Members' News
Well done to our Medal Final winners taking part in the Finale of our Summer Season Medal events last Sunday. A special mention to Ronnie Webster who managed two at the 13th (with a driver), his solitary two netted him £26. Terry Keenan also bagged another prize with our Pro Shop Raffle, another £26 in the bag. All medal winners will be invited to our Sponsors Day on Friday, 7 October, extra tickets will be available in due course so look out for that event (me and Linda will be taking part). All prize money, winners, runners up and third places from 2016 medals will be in your respective accounts that week. Medal Finals winners were as follows:
First Division - Lee Thompson (71 - 3 = 68).
Second Division - Terry Keenan (83 - 12 = 71).
Third Division and Jack Firth Winner - Steve Hamblett (85 - 18 = 67).

The Swing Lounge Winter League is back!
I am excited to say our Swing Lounge Winter League is back, bigger and better than last year! The league will start from Tuesday, 1 November, below are a few points of what to expect including a new fourball betterball format and the top four entering a play-off (like the footy) on our Finals Weekend in March. Titleist are on board and we will have many great prizes. Details are as follows:
New courses including Celtic Manor and Royal Aberdeen.
10 courses in total to be completed (9 holes).
League format culminating in a Matchplay Play-off Weekend and Final.
Format will be Fourball Betterball with a Russian Stableford last event.
Maximum handicaps will apply.
Titleist sponsored event with top 10 receiving prizes plus a highest ladies and mixed prize.
The Winter League will end on the first weekend in March 2017.
Play will be any time excluding Wed, Fri and Sat nights.
Pairs format with no exchanging of players.

Short Game Masterclass Part Three - Saturday, 1 October (10am - 1pm)
Join us again for another Short Game Masterclass with hosts Ryan Done and Trevor Newsham. On the day you will have three hours with the area's best coaches learning about all parts of the short-game in a fun, information filled morning. Details are as follows:
