If Ryan was a horse he would have been shot by now, in fact he would have been shot many moons ago ending his glittering golf career, cut short by a dodgy knee and so it has come to this (pictured)... A bionic reconstruction of some kind; metal detectors beware. For those who have been living under a rock, Ryan has suffered heavily with knee problems over the past five years resulting in Monday's operation to re-align his knee. All went well with the operation and Ryan was able to come home on Tuesday evening, unfortunately leaving the constant morphine drip behind in Kendal. I wouldn't fancy swapping seats with him as he will be pretty much bed bound for the next few weeks with his leg in a full brace and only getting a morphine fix every six hours. We are expecting the same timescale of his return to action, six weeks before he will be back teaching, but as I mentioned last week I will be filling in for people wanting a fix-up in the meantime. If you visit our award winning Facebook page often (if there were awards for such a thing) you may see a few videos starting to crop up, short informative clips from myself to bring news to our members and customers. These videos are just a test to see what I look/sound like in front of camera, a young Burt Reynolds has been the phrase banded around the local population, but I modestly see room for improvement in my new acting career. The Winter League was back after a three week absence and strangely not down to the weather this year. Our winners Matt Birch and Phil Osborne fired in the only 43 point total of the day narrowly beating fellow syndicate members Scott Lee and Roy Hogg; their 42 points gave them solo second. A handful of 41 points filled up the other spaces in the top six, including a special appearance for President Phil Foster in sixth. Phil, I heard even had a two, my sources tell me his whole syndicate had zero in the whole 2015/16 season. Well done Phil and his team, I sincerely mean that, but even my mum had a two last year! Full results can be found on our notice board where you will also find a list of the twos. This week is a team event. Can Nick Lamb please sign-in this time as well so Linda doesn't have to chase you down the fairway?
