We are gearing up for the season and the return of Mr D, his return (hopefully) will be in two weeks so if you want to book any lessons or fittings in with him, please begin to do so. His return may be keeping us busy, but so is our sale this weekend, where you could win your basket total FREE. Winter League
Our Winter League made a welcome return to Heysham on Sunday after course closure cancelled the previous week's competition. Winners with 43 points and two points clear for 16 holes were John Dobson and Carl Sadler. There was even a Newsham sneaking into the prizes this week scraping into fifth with 39 points - well done Big Trev. There were 16 twos worth £6.50 each.
Night Golf - Friday, 3 March
How it works - Night Golf is an amazing concept giving you the surreal experience of playing golf in full darkness. Armed with glow in the dark golf balls you will play five holes in total darkness, navigating your way round with the help of LED lights placed strategically down the sides of fairways, hazards, round the green and most importantly, the hole. The night is a blast, complete with boozey additions from the bar, drinks offers and a chance to increase your handicap with some pre-drinks. We have plenty more in store for the evening, the sign-up sheet will be going up on the snooker room notice board shortly. Full details are as follows:
£25 per person includes your supper and money into the prize fund.
Single stableford format.
Plus a team prize (based on numbers).
Tee times from 6.20pm.
Singles, pairs and fourballs welcome. Members, juniors and non-members welcome.

Members' AGM - Monday, 13 February
All full members of Heysham Golf Club are invited to attend the AGM. This is your opportunity to make any proposals for the future of Heysham Golf Club and to vote for candidates seeking a post as a Club Director.
Gent's Annual Dinner - Friday, 17 February
Welcome your new Captain Paul Rogerson into office in his first official function as 2017 Captain. Enjoy a three course meal from our amazing Catering team at Heysham Golf Club, sink it down with a few (20) pints and have a good laugh with fellow members. Your support and good humour is welcome to this evening.
Tickets are £18 per person. You can sign-up yourself on the list situated on the snooker room noticeboard. Dress code will be black tie for the evening.

Putting Evenings will have two sessions. Session one will be at 5:00pm and session two at 7:00pm. Limited to eight people per session. The cost will be £15 per person.

Short Game Masterclasses are three hours long. Times may vary, but will be based on 11:00am - 2:00pm. The class will include tuition from Ryan and Trevor as well as introducing SAM Putt Lab. Word From The Coach
Another week has passed from the knee recovery, but it is slowly getting better. Thanks again for all the well wishes and those who've popped round and visited me. As I said it's been frustrating, but I've got loads done to help with the shop plans for the coming season. Testing the new Sam Putting Lab has been awesome and I can't wait to get started at the club. I've had some good testers in Jack Senior, who's made massive progress by using the system, the results are unreal and tweaking a few bits in his technique(his thumbs on the mend after a few injections). Also to Greg and Carts who popped by and had a try and actually did surprisingly well!
We have a few changes going on this week in the Fitting Studio this week including new slatwalling, a workstation, new monitors and new club fit stands all to make room for the new fitting equipment for 2017, photos to follow next week. A special thanks to Josh Corless for his help.
I'm also looking forward to next month's short break to Portugal, where 24 of our golfers (I use that term loosely) participate in our annual style Ryder Cup format match with a few beers and a laugh every minute. The draw and shirt name ceremony takes place this Friday night at 6.30pm, then the banter really heats up!
