Despite recent poor weather, we have been busy with a mixture or lessons, fittings and the inevitable ball collecting on a very wet, closed range. First of all it is probably fair to give the green staff a nod for keeping the course open, giving you guys a chance to get out for some fresh air. It isn't always ideal when it gets this wet, leading to trolleys bans and hole closures, but always remember if you don't fancy a visit to a wet golf course then stay inside in the warmth. Although the range stays closed remember you can pop into the Swing Lounge for a warm practice for only £5 on range mode.
As the weather gets better we are starting to transfer our focus onto the short game, our masterclasses are filling up so remember to get booked in as soon as possible. Coming up on Saturday, 25 March is our first weekend Short Game Masterclass of the year and we only have a few spaces left so please get booked in NOW! March is a great time to be fitted for new clubs, check out the pictures of a customer joining team Callaway with the Big Bertha Fusion driver 10.5 degree. This driver has been shortened an inch, a move to help give the user gain a higher chance of striking it out the middle and hitting more fairways. The length often causes the highest missed fairways through off-centre strikes, a short shaft could help give you some control. Another customer who benefited from our FREE fitting service is Jonathan, a customer who came over to us from the North East, pictured left with some new Cobra Forged irons 4-PW. These irons were fitted with the KBS C-Taper Lite shaft in stiff, adjusted two degrees upright and treated to some thicker grips. All these are FREE custom fitable options when you come and see us, plus we treated Jonathan to some sweets and a couple of other freebies along with our bespoke #ThankYou card. The last Winter League is coming up this Sunday, can we ask all syndicates to have their list of names handed in by Monday, 20 March to Linda. All winnings and twos will then begin to be paid and we should hopefully have all accounts credited by the end of March.
Congratulations to Dan Guest who was officially unveiled as our Junior Captain for 2017 last Saturday night. Thank you to those that came along and supported Dan.

Putting Evenings will have two sessions. Session one will be at 5:00pm and session two at 7:00pm. Limited to eight people per session. The cost will be £15 per person.

Short Game Masterclasses are three hours long. Times may vary, but will be based on 11:00am - 2:00pm. The class will include tuition from Ryan and Trevor as well as introducing the SAM Putt Lab. Swing Lounge News
The Swing Lounge Winter League is coming to an end, catch us on our Facebook page over the weekend for a top five of our league. Remember the top four will go into our play-off day (TBA) and it's going to be tight.
Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
