Latest News
The trip of the year is here, Portugal 2017 is upon us for our rowdy gang and if you fancy keeping up with the latest goings on, as well as score updates, make sure you follow us on our Facebook page. As always I am sure there will be plenty of stories to tell, so next week's newsletter could well be interesting. I for one am very excited as I haven't played much golf and I will be in fact using some new clubs for the week; these are featured later on in the newsletter with my very own what's in the bag.
Elsewhere in this week's newsletter we have the latest shop arrivals for you to feast your eyes on, some information on why choosing the right ball is important and how the new Titleist Pro V1 has changed for the better. Speaking of the Pro V1, you can now put in your loyalty order where you can receive FREE personalisation on three dozen balls and get an extra dozen FREE. That's £129 for four dozen Pro V1 balls, you can even add a special number for an extra £10. Click here for more details.
Members' News
The Winter League came to a thrilling finale last weekend when a closely fought battle over the winter brought a final team event showdown on the links. Step forward winter expert Lee Tomlinson, not for the first time Lee came out on top. His team included the Lockharts, Steve and Adi as well as the back from injury Paul Hodgson. The winners on the final week were Anthony Palmer, Adam Hutchinson, Carl Sadler and Steve Carter! This Sunday will be a Texas Scramble event so please enter as normal at the draw or via BRS from tomorrow.
Carl Sadler is also helping to run our car park draw, where you could win a space for one year. That space is situated right outside the club front door so you can stroll that three yards into the club at a leisurely pace. The draw board can be found in the clubhouse or in the pro shop and you can buy a square for £5 or buy three for £10. All money raised will go towards funding new furniture in the clubhouse. Carl along with Pete Savage are already working hard to change things around in the clubhouse, TV's will be moved allowing for sport to be watched in the lounge as well as the snooker room.
Check out our noticeboards in the snooker room where you can find social information from the club, competitions information and other various notices. We have members running several charity events coming up so please check that board for information.
Course News
From tomorrow the course will be back onto restricted trolley use, so if you can carry please do so. For those with ride on buggies we have to restrict you to the usual 1, 2, 3, 17 and18 as there is still a lot of wet areas. Fingers crossed with the upcoming weather we can become much drier in the push towards the season. The range is now back open again, but please always check with us in the professional shop before you come up.

New Arrivals
The New Oscar Jacobson range will be out in store early next week. Good news for Howsie Weale, not so much for his wife (we have resorted to sending him out of the shop with an Asda carrier bag so Julie doesn't know he has been restocking his Oscar wardrobe again).
V Or X?
What has changed? Major differences include:
The Pro V1 is now as long as the Pro V1x .
Both have low long game spin with drop and stop greenside control.
High launch with the Pro V1x with steep angle descent to the green, penetrating flight with the Pro V1, shallow angle of descent and more roll.
