Heysham has been busy this week, a sure sign that we have taken a huge jump out of the cold winter months into the cold spring months, because it's bloody Baltic still. That being said we have found time to host an East Lancashire PGA event, with over 100 golfers taken part in a Pro-Am format this past Wednesday. I myself visited Skerton St. Luke's Primary School to host the first of a 10 week golf course for 75 children on Monday afternoon whilst Ryan took a class from Morecambe Road School onto our short game facility. The course is in wonderful condition thanks to our green staff and quite a few of you have been thrashing away in the early rounds of our matchplay events here at the club. Heysham itself is going through some changes, the spike bar is having its first stage of a facelift completed this week, a new surrounding seat area will begin its transformation from the 1970's... I know note book seller Carl Sadler is behind this. Speaking of Carl, he has helped fund these changes with the Car Park Space Draw which I believed will be held shortly with April coming to a close, so get your spaces bought before the draw ends! Three squares for £10 for a chance to win a car parking space for a year. It is worth noting our course does get busy this time of year so please refer to your diary, check the BRS system and contact our shop staff to see what is on in advance. The Swing Lounge Winter League finale has been held, find out the top five finishers as well as a May Swing Lounge Special launching from Monday! Are you missing out on our famous competition reports? Join us on Facebook to read our last report from the first Captain's Qualifier, be warned I hold no prisoners. Our next event is the First President's Qualifier held this Sunday, expect a report on that in the middle of next week as I will be in Venice (sorry). Please be warned I am attacking all those who NR without good reason, we must always fight and battle to the end out there on the golf course.

Swing Lounge Winter League Finale
Well done to winners Dan McCamley and Chris McCardle who defended their 2016 title with the tightest of victories over Chris Gardner and Dave Jarvis. As both teams tied in the league and then tied on the same score last night with 22 points, we did a countback to the first score of the league which gave Dan and Chris a tight victory. Their win has netted them a Titleist 917 driver each, in this league supported by Titleist. Look out in the autumn for the 2018 Winter League, with the introduction of a trophy and winners board coming soon. Below is the official top five prize winners:

Jack Senior Latest
Check out the pictures from a lesson on Wednesday with Jack Senior, who is back from his trip to Turkey where he finished tied 42nd in a low scoring event. Jack is seriously crunching the ball as you can see from the numbers, we even had to stop him as he was losing balls in the trees at the back of our 300 yard long driving range. He then benefited from a session on our SAM Putting Lab Station with Ryan, helping his putting until he can tee up again in his next event in Portugal. If you want to try help your putting like Jack then try out our special two short game experience.

From Monday, 1 May myself and Ryan will be offering a new one-to-one short game service aimed at getting the best from your game in 2017. With our new Sam Putt Lab edition so far being a success, we thought we would up our lesson offering to include a new two hour short game M.O.T where you will get the following:
Chipping technique analysis.
Specialist shots around the green.
Wedge gapping session.
Pitching focus (yardage 35, 50 and 75).

Group Coaching
