Speaking of Cobra, staff player Rickie Fowler managed an ace at the 17th hole during Wednesday's play, he is using the King Pro irons, not many of us can handle bladed irons, but he certainly can. Who will your pick be for the un-official fifth major of the year? The Players Course at Sawgrass has gone through some big changes this winter and I can't wait to see them. What about Rory McIlroy joining the TaylorMade family? Another big contract for him to rake in the $$$, but he made some interesting suggestions about how much the equipment has helped his game. Remember we are a TaylorMade fitting shop with access to Rory's full bag for you to try... except his prototype irons, I can imagine their a piece of cake to hit.
Good luck to all our ladies who are taking part in our Open on Saturday. We have picked up some sale clothing especially for the day which can be checked out in our shop now, see more on that later in this newsletter. As well as news on a star pupil for Ryan over in the States and a quick update on Jack Senior for those who follow the big guy in his Challenge Tour season.
Members' News
We all had a smashing time at the Lunesdale League Day Out, especially Dez Martinez. In fact it was so good several of our members tried to drive an imaginary bus home. Andy Hill started the bus with John Mellor driving passengers including Andy Elder, Matty Hartley, Dan Hodges and Nick Lamb. These guys will probably be on the bus in the future, so we look forward to them using their season passes (especially Nick Lamb). A big thanks to Preston for their hospitality, the course was in great condition and also to Tony Johnson for his organising skills. Well done to Ashton Ward for his win with a fine 37 points, taking home the 'Luney Shield'.
Last week in the second Captains' Qualifier we had a rather embarrassing thing happen for one of our members; Jack Cowell (also known as his alias Jake Cadwell). Jack managed 92 fine blows which included a 12, not only is that bad enough, but he had seven putts to achieve this double figure. Jack tried to explain he didn't try for several of the putts, but my sources tell me he lined up ever single one of them. Well done to top the board Dan McCamley for his 73 - 8 = 65. 71 nett made the qualifying mark, with my dad even limping round in third for a 82 - 14 = 68. Geoff Leatham scraped the last qualifying place past President Phil Foster, who I'm sure took it well. This Sunday is our second President's Qualifier, of which a thorough report will come out during the week on our Facebook page. Any stories, pictures or videos please send them to me in the shop.

A Word With Ryan...
Great news for college player Adam Stone over in the States this week as he was named East Bay Men's Golf CCAA player of the year. Adam will be back for the summer where he will hopefully get a bit of time in with Ryan up here at Heysham. He has a great future ahead of him, hopefully following in Jack's footsteps into Tour Golf. Jack is in Portugal this week for a co-sanctioned event round Morgado Golf Club. The scoring is low in this event, with -9 leading as I write this. Jack is to get underway shortly, follow his progress through the European Tour website. Come on the Bear!
Jack recently got some time in working on his putting with Ryan on our SAM PuttLab. This amazing piece of kit gives you instant feedback using sonar waves to measure your putting stroke. Feel like you want to have a whirl? Our next Putting Night is next Tuesday at 7:00pm, we have spaces left where you can find out detailed information on your stroke whilst learning better technique, putter selection and practice drills from Ryan and Trevor.
