You don't need to win any awards to come to this incredibly fun evening, the alcohol will keep flowing and entertainment is pretty much the cherry on top. You get to see me be a sanctimonious idiot at the expense of many HGC members. What more could you ask for?

Course update...

The green staff will be continuing to work hard through the next few months to keep the course in as best shape as possible, but if you can please adhere to the following guidelines then that would be fantastic:

• Fairway protection posts are now in action. If your ball finishes in the fairway between the orange posts then kindly move your ball to the semi-rough no nearer the hole.
• If you can get round the course without using a trolley then please do so now, switch over to that light carry bag so we can keep a full trolley ban at bay for those who need one to get round the golf course.
• Club ride on buggies are currently restricted to holes 1, 2, 3, 17 and 18. For instructions on what route to take when playing these holes please see the pro shop. Private single seaters are still okay to access the full course, but please stick to the paths and allocated routes.
• Continue to repair pitchmarks, replace divots, take trolleys round bunkers and avoid standing on or around the hole when the conditions are soft.
• Please try to consciously change up your walking routes when leaving tees and greens. Often the need for temporary measures is because of heavily used walking areas as opposed to the actual tees or greens being unfit for use.
  
• Always check with the pro shop or the course information line for up to date information. The board outside the shop will also include all relevant info needed, so check before you play.

Most of all enjoy your golf, a little cold, wind and rain never hurt anybody....
