The North West is hit by yellow weather warnings of wind and rain in probably our worst chunk of weather since the storm hit last month causing problems throughout the UK and Ireland. However not all is lost when the golf course is near enough unplayable as the Swing Lounge can offer the perfect solution to inclement conditions out in the open. Remember you can book in anytime to play social golf and Heysham (and Lansil) members receive discounts that will mean prices as low as £4 per hour.

Now let's move on from the quick sales pitch... to another; Black Friday! If you didn't see our email go out on Monday promoting our Black Friday big ticket item sale this weekend then don't cry about it. All our sale items are listed below in the neatly titled section 'Black Friday Weekend', the clever name refers directly to this weekend and the various array of goodies we will be giving away far too cheaply. So get the WD40 out, loosen the hinges on that wallet and give yourself an early Christmas present. Speaking of Christmas, at the bottom of today's newsletter we have included out opening times over the Christmas period, make sure you check them out so as you know when we are open over the holidays.

Two Man Texas Scramble

Although I didn't play, Sunday was my first experience with a Two Man Texas Scramble format. So far feedback has been mixed, but it is great to see experimental formats over what is always a long winter league. Our winners were Roy Hogg (Bandit) and Lee Tomlinson with an impressive 44 points over the 16 hole course. The nearest to that was 40 points from Paul Hodgson and Steve Lockhart (I reckon it's the new PING irons Steve). Jon Sumner and Tommy Shields came third and the combination of Kev Helme and Martin Woodhouse finished fourth, both with 40 points. Fifth place was miraculous for a team fancied to finish dead last, Nick Lamb and Arnie Duckworth, they even beat Carl Sadler and Captain's Winner Ned Flanders into sixth. Just to clarify if your pair had a two, the £10.63 is split between both players.
