Hello golfers,

In 1984 the golf club greenstaff started to take daily records of rainfall, this is recorded as rainfall per mm taken in a single 24-hour day. Last Wednesday 82mm of rain was recorded in 24 hours, breaking the record of most rainfall in a day since 1984. Villages, homes and livelihoods in the area were wrecked, flooded and lives shattered by a single day of torrential rain. In the area close to the golf club roads were closed and inevitably the golf course was closed too, down to health and safety more than anything as several of our water features burst their banks. Check out the pictures below, a sight I have never seen in my time here at Heysham. The golf course is now open, the greenstaff putting in the work to keep conditions as playable as possible. The range however will be temperamental in its opening hours due to it being at the lowest point of our course. Closures of the range happen from time-to-time, so please bare with us; when conditions are too wet to get the collection machine down there we try to hand pick, but unfortunately we don't have enough man-power. Remember that you can always use the range mode in the Swing Lounge, if available, for only £5. Our award winning short game areas remain open through the poor weather due to their all-weather astroturf, something other clubs in the area do not offer. Non-members can also use these facilities for only £5 for unlimited daily play. Check out the pics below of the course taken last week!

I also had a free club fitting for a new driver and was blown away with the service you get. I, as most people, have always thought that you pay a lot more at a club than say somewhere like American Golf. This is just not the case, as you pay the same , but the personal free fitting and service is far superior. I will never buy a golf club from other places again. I can say from experience that you don't get a proper fitting at these other shops.

So for any golfers who are in this area and thinking of getting some new clubs for Christmas etc, don't look anywhere else than Heysham Golf Club... 10/10... And yes you do pay the same.''
