Hello golfers, A big week at Heysham this week as our official office changes hand and we welcome our new dignitaries. First of all on behalf of our team can I thank our 2017 Captain Paul 'Podge' Rogerson for all his work, efforts and support of our work. It has been great to work with someone as enthusiastic as Podge and look forward to carrying on with this ideas in the future. Also, a thanks to the Late Phil Foster who sadly left us before he could complete his Presidency, wherever Phil may be I hope he's caught in a debate somewhere and he's carrying on his HGC passion elsewhere. Thank you also to Liz Keary for her support in 2017 as Lady Captain. Liz not only supported our team, but helped raise over £3,600 for Cancer Research and Galloway's Society for the Blind. Her charity work with the Captain is an inspiration so well done to all involved who helped raise a tremendous amount. As they leave we welcome our new Captain Gav Thomson, President Baz Simcox and Lady Captain Ann Hough. All three are popular figures around the club and we look forward to working with them in 2018. In fact, next week you can look out for a new section of our newsletter which will be a word from the Captain. Gav will share his thoughts and stories from the golf club throughout 2018 every month, so you can look forward to a few laughs on that one.
I will be officially welcoming in the new dignitaries at our annual Gent's Dinner this coming Friday, if you follow us on Facebook we will post a few pictures and an update or two from the evening. You can find out some information on our new fitting days, or help your golf with a pre-season M.O.T in this week's newsletter so we hope you enjoy the read.
