Welcome to this week's newsletter. Linda pointed it out last week, but yes I was away in the lovely Amalfi Coast enjoying a few beers mixed in with some Aperol Spritz'; where also at the same time my mind was fully fixed on the couple months ahead, finishing 2018 strongly with excitement for the slowly approaching 2019 season. |
Interestingly I read Rory Mcilroy will only play once in the next 13 weeks in preparation for 2019, does that mean I could maybe take 12 more holidays over the next 13 weeks? To finish the year strongly we have an exciting evening planned in December where we will be selling off our DEMO equipment at ridiculously low prices, the shop will open late and to top it off Ryan, myself and Ronnie Webster will be holding a Rules Evening as the game has its biggest rules shake up ever in 2019.
Full details can be found in today's newsletter, some information on the golf course, Christmas tips and a word of advice for the WAGS (wives and girlfriends) about how to make that Christmas purchase much more relaxed with the help of our very own Mrs D!
Enjoy this week's read! |
Course update
The fairway protection stakes are now in place, please make sure you adhere to these rules when out on the course and if you are unsure of what to do, speak to our Professional Shop staff. The greenstaff are also keen to have those who can carry their bags (see today's newsletter on a cheap bag deal in store now), to do so now to limit the wear and tear of the grass in areas that will become tired and muddy.
Perfect examples of this can be found around the greens as golfers approach the next tee. To limit this, you will see some metal posts out on the golf course around greens, these poles will re-route those needing to use trolleys around, but will allow those golfers carrying to walk through the small gaps provided. Where possible please use the paths provided, as you can see from the provided picture, some users have wandered off the provided paths, so please stick to them as much as you can. As always, thank you for your help and co-operation in looking after our golf course.

It's time to stop putting it off - Christmas is getting closer and closer, so you need to consider what will be going under the tree later this year. We're not just talking about the presents that you buy for loved ones and friends, but also what you want to be unwrapping come December 25th. |
| Garmin Approach S10 | A golfer who is not utilising the immense help that a GPS device provides is putting themselves at a major disadvantage over their playing partners. Knowing how far you have to the green (front, middle and back) as well as hazards is vital to hitting your next shot with confidence, which you can get from the Approach S10. |
| Garmin Approach S60 | If, however, you want a little bit more style and information from your GPS then we'd suggest Garmin's Approach S60. The choice of straps means you can choose one to suit your lifestyle off the course, whilst its full-colour maps and touchscreen face eliminates any guesswork during your round. |
