Welcome to this week’s newsletter. Last Sunday, the Club Championship was cancelled due to the incredibly poor weather from Saturday and the early hours of Sunday; the course was washed out.
The main hassle was the (upcoming) Clayton Trophy being picked, meaning it will now be decided this weekend just one week before the big day on Saturday, 10 August. |

The day itself is always good fun, and the boys in blue are always well supported; it will be great to see Morecambe & Lancaster Golf Club’s also support their teams on the day as energetically as our supporters. Heysham represent Lancashire
Lucas and Curtis both represented Lancashire vs Yorkshire this week at Sandburn Golf Club near York. They battled hard but only Lucas managed a point in the afternoon singles as Lancashire crashed to a defeat.
Still, it's always an honour to have Heysham members representing the County; a strong Yorkshire team included the Number One European Amateur in Ben Schmidt. Good luck to Aidan Hartin, our junior who is out representing the Lancaster District in Denmark. Look out for our shirts as we sponsored them for a day to make sure they looked the part. |

A word from the Coach...
The English Amateur Championships have been on this week, great to have five of my students taking part round the tough North Hants and Hankley Common Golf Clubs in Surrey. The field is massive, with nearly 300 taking part; so, a huge well done to Louis Talarczyk who qualified in the top 64 for the matchplay rounds. Closer to home I had a great message of John Wheeler, playing nearby at Morecambe. He's won a few recently and is now done to 13, amazing work John. Also, great to see Dave Cousins from Morecambe as well this week; a brilliant fitting for the left-hander. A mixture of the Callaway Rogue irons and the formidable Cobra F9 driver (that thing is a beast). Looking forward to them all arriving and gapping his wedges. In other fitting news, member John Pepper treated himself to a new Odyssey Stroke Lab V-Line CS, taking advantage of our FREE Fitting offer and FREE lesson. John was using a toe-hang putter, meaningless consistency in strike. The V-line CS is centre shafted and very face-balanced, so more consistency and a more balanced stroke. I will finish with the below email sent from Iain, a great guy working on contract at the Power Station, he was recently fitted for some Cobra F-Max Superlite Irons and he's had some lessons with myself and Trev.
