Work on your pace putting with a few simple household items Step 1: Gather up a handful of coins, pennies are best for this as they are generally the thinnest! Step 2: You need your putter, several balls and you need 2 slim items to make a gateway to putt through Step 3: Set up your gateway(hole) approximately 6 feet from your starting position. Step 4: Make 3 small circles using the coins directly behind the gate. Each circle represents your chosen pace. So one circle should be directly behind, one circle 1 foot behind and then a further circle 2 feet behind. Step 5: Set up to your putt and try to hole it through the gate at your chosen speed. The first circle represents a 'dead weight' putt. The 2nd circle would represent a standard speed putt and finally, the 3rd circle would be an aggressive speed. The Goal: Your aim is to hole the putt and have the ball finish in the nominated circle. Matching your speed to your line is so important, so this is a great way to teach yourself feel so you're ready when you're next out on the links! Good Luck! |
