Welcome again to this week's Clubfit Golf newsletter, once again coming from Casa Newsham as we smash through week 7 of Lockdown. Is Golf going to be back soon? Well, most of the noise coming from our leading organisations suggest so and that is why yesterday I filmed several videos on how to play safe golf at Heysham. The videos will launch soon and they will give you a little insight into how you can look after each other once we are back playing, and how we plan to look after you!
It can be incredibly difficult to come up with golf content during lockdown, but hopefully, today's newsletter will give you a little fix for the time being! Let it be known that we are excited for everyone's return to golf, preparations are going on behind the scenes and once again above anything THANK YOU to all Heysham members for their support of us, the club and golf in general. Also, to our readers from around the local areas THANK YOU for shopping with us, supporting our small business and supporting your local golf clubs! Here is what's coming up in today's newsletter: - We hear from Mr D on his post-Lockdown coaching Plans
- PLUS a return lesson offer with Trevor
- Our Catering Teams Amazing Weekend Offer!
- Heysham Captain's Check In! Hear from our Lady & Junior captains!
- That exciting Casa Newsham Update

A word with Mr D I know you will be excited to get back to working on your golf and I can't wait to be back in my 'hut' coaching over the summer. Rest assured though, I will have precautions in place to make sure my lessons & fittings are held in a safe environment and with social distancing at the forefront of our lessons together Here is a few measures I will have in place when I get back to coaching: - Santisier available down on the range to sanitise your hands before entering
- Marked out sections on the studio floor to promote social distancing
- I will be using alcohol wipes to clean all fitting components and teaching aids after any use
- Washing hands thoroughly in between lessons and keeping the door open during sessions
These are just a few precautions, but your lessons will be in safe environment. As soon as we get the go ahead from the government our booking page will go LIVE so you can book at www.clubfitgolf.co.uk shortly after we are given the green light to return to coaching. As for the past few weeks, well I have been busy doing essential maintenance at the Club, the shop and the studio/range. This is essential work that was going to be carried out during the summer, so to crack on during this period has allowed me the chance to get it done! Follow the link to see what I have been up to click here As for now, stay safe and stay home as much as possible. The golf course is waiting and it won't be long before you're out there again!

A check in with our HGC Captains |
| Ladies in action
| To Heysham Ladies section, I hope that you are all well, keeping strong and staying safe. That has to be the priority in these testing times. Golf has to be secondary at the moment and rightly so. I know how much I am missing golf and I’m sure you all must be feeling the same. It seems so long since we were all together and I miss the friendships, the laughs and the banter. We are a strong and loyal section and that will stand us in good stead. Who would have thought that the weather would have been so glorious when the course if out of bounds. Makes it all the harder. But we will play again and hopefully soon and I truly hope that the remainder of the season will be blessed with the sun. I know that the course is looking fantastic thanks to Dave and his staff. They’ve really done a fantastic job. Hopefully, we’ll all do the course credit when we finally get playing again. I do suspect though that it might take some of us some time to get back into the swing – unless your name’s Jackie Gow or Sue Jones. I can think of one or two others as well. There are good times ahead. The club needs us now, more than ever. Please do whatever you can to support the club, the Pro Shop, the bar and the caterers. We are all in this together and we will all come out of it together. Keep well, stay safe. See you all on the golf course – hopefully very soon Tracy Lady Captain |

Hi All, I’m just checking in with you all to see how you are all coping with LOCKDOWN. Myself, I’ve been creative and mowed a chipping green on the field at the side of my house to practise, but there is only so much of that I can take...! However watching Prime Minsters Question time Boris said there will be an announcement on Monday to look at the easing of lockdown, fingers crossed we will be able to play golf again soon!! So it’s time to clean your clubs and get ready to start playing again! I’m looking forward to seeing you out on the course. There may be some restrictions so look out for emails keeping the members up dated. Bye for now and stay safe, Charlie Junior Captain |

Casa Newsham lockdown garden work.. |
| The back garden | This past weekend I managed to clear all the rubble from breaking up old concrete and remove all the old turf! I was knackered but I need a breaker to sort the rest of the concrete! Watch this space! |
| The front Garden | The front garden is now full and about to get even fuller this weekend! Moving on to the next phase of operation 'Dig Garden Up'. |

What can you remember from the last decade? We hope you enjoyed last week's Silhouette Challenge; some were certainly easier than others. The end of 2019 also marked the end of a decade, but how much can you remember - on a golfing front - from those 10 years? Put your memory to the test with this week's quiz as we challenge you to recall some amazing feats in the world of golf. Good luck!
