Autumn Medal
Some great scores this past Sunday, the course recovering from being closed Saturday due to 28mm of rain throughout Friday Night. In division 1 our Course Manager Dave could only finish 4th with a season best 67 nett falling behind Damian Doyles 66, he was -4 through 8. In 2nd, Jim Miller with a 65 nett again was unlucky not to win coming behind Jack Heap's 75-11-64. In division 2, a great score of 63 from Luke Brownlee won by a good few, a bit of credit to his new Cobra King Forged Tec irons fitted recently! Special mention to Colin Seddon and Phil Osborne for a couple of 67's. In division 3 Pete Bracewell finished top with 71, just past young Ben Van De Sande at only 12 years old, he scored 91-19-72. Gary Mason, Calum Marsden & John McCray with strong 72's aswell. Two's were £9.53 Raffle- Nick Lamb £55| Damian Doyle £35| Rob Smith £30| Mitch Wilson £24 Greens Iron on Loan
The Greens Team are trialling a turf iron at the moment which they hope to purchase next spring. This machine improves the putting surfaces by increasing the speed of the greens and helps reduce stress on the plant by not having to cut as low and enables you to iron the greens instead of mowing them certain days a week. If the greens would be cut and then ironed in summer for example, you may see nearly a foot more speed on any particular day. If you’d like to learn more you can google Tru Turf Greens Iron and see a video of it in action, or check out our Facebook Page to see Adam testing it out this week. We think it was a big help to golfers this weekend as the scores suggested; even Scott Lee was happy! Return of the Deb It's also great to see Debs back in the Halfway House, something she has done before to great success! We hope everyone enjoys a brew or snack halfway round in the coming weeks, with a friendly smile and Chat from Debs! Any Questions, contact us below. Or if you would like to see any more news from around the club which we may have missed then send it in! |
