As many of our customers may know Ryan has had various knee problems over the past few years, many won't know it is mainly due to the very long hours put upon him and the expectation placed upon him and with golf professionals in general. A lot of these problems come from the work Ryan puts in on maintaining the driving range on behalf of the golf club as we control the shop business. Countless hours spent collecting balls, searching for them and also repairing any issues with the driving range itself. This has led to Ryan's knee problems and unfortunately Ryan will need another small operation to clean it up before it gets worse. From Monday he will be off work for two weeks so we advise anyone booking lessons to do so for after he returns as he will be very busy. You can offer your well wishes with us in the shop as Ryan again goes under the knife.
The juniors defend their title!
What a win for our young lads last Saturday at near rival golf club, Morecambe. A superb set of scores for our young talented Blenkinsop team meant they defended their trophy for 2015 and will look for four in a row next year at Lancaster. Our superb team (gross scores) consisted of Captain Matthew Bargh (75), John Wilding (69), Will Thomson (85), Mitchell Wilson (80), Lucas Done (76), Callum Done (82) and reserve Curtis Done. A talented team producing some top scores meant a 19 shot victory with Morecambe second and Lancaster finishing in third. Special mention must of course go to John Wilding's round of 69 impressive on the tricky course which offers up no par fives.
Also from a personal point of view on behalf of Ryan and Linda it was a proud moment to see their three boys part of the Blenkinsop Team and there is plenty more to come from the trio. On behalf of us here at Clubfit Golf and also Heysham Golf Club we can say a big congratulations, we are very proud (especially chief coach Ryan) and let's go rip it up at Lancaster next year!
Morecambe Bay Festival 2015
Monday will see the 2015 Bay Festival commence across our local courses, expect to find Heysham a very busy place this week so please consult the pro shop before coming up to play. For this week we will also have some extra buggies available for rental. These can be rented from this weekend and on Saturday we will be offering a special price of £7.50 per buggy!
