Competitions News
A calmer few days on the Competitions front but certainly not on the weather front as 190 took on a blustery HGC on Sunday in the 2nd Medal (Sponsored by Alpha Engineering).
11 scores under Par was a good demonstration of how tough the conditions were on Sunday, a big change from the 1st Medal in late May! In Division 1 the scoring was strong with some solid Gross scores from the boys at the top. Scott Lee coming out on top with a 72-3-69, a low gross of the day as well bagging him £20. In 2nd Tony Johnson also had a great score in tough conditions just missing out on a card play-off but 1 shot ahead of Jack Wilson in 3rd. I must mention Jack playing the back 9 in level with a double bogey costing him at the last!
In division 2 it was tight again with a mix of low scores but none lower than James Wood with a 79-13-66. He sneaked past the in-form Wayne Downhams 85-19-66 who was a shot ahead of Dave Sumner in 3rd. There were a couple more 67's that just missed out but strong scoring in the british conditions.
Lastly, in division 3 there were now super low scores this week, Adrian Burt's 67 being the lowest. Pete Jackson, who I must mention had a lesson Friday, a shot back on 68 and then Mike Pritchard with 69. The same thing happened as with division 2 where a couple more 69's missed out, but well done to Pedder & Bross for great scores!

Ladies News
The Ladies section have been incredibly busy over the last several weeks with some really good results across the county. Firstly, you may have seen the Westmorland Shield being held at Heysham in beautiful weather. The event was great with 14 teams attending, Heysham finishing a strong 4th place. Speaking of a Heysham team, one then went even better at the Lancashire NW Interclub event at Penwortham. The team won the event and qualified for the final to be held in September! Look out on the tee sheet for the 'Herons' & 'Moorhens' teams taking part in Ladies Shield matches. Always difficult matches but with some success so far I'm sure the ladies teams can keep pushing on! Keep it up Ladies! You can see a couple of pictures of the ladies teams in this section!
Junior News
Whilst we are talking of team matches, the junior North Lancs Team (Led by Scott Curran) had a busy weekend with 2 matches taking place in a matter of days. Amazingly they won both matches with a home win against Morecambe and an away win against Ashton & Lea. Well Done to all that took part in the matches, let's hope there is more to come! Thank You as always to the parents that act as Taxi drivers but also to Scott for managing the team!
