Course Update
The 18th has transformed before our eyes over the past month with mountains of earth moved in artistic fashion. A big Thank You to the genius work of Ian Taylor from Arden Lea, a craftsman at his job sat behind the controls of a digger. His work with the help from our team as totally transformed the 18th with our eyes looking ahead to the future! Now, the ground will settle and in time the area will begin to grow before more work is then carried out to make the new pond a real feature finish of our great golf course.
A lot of this work is with a view to the future as nothing is yet set in stone but rules around mains water use is getting tighter year on year. Last winter we installed a new irrigation system and now the new system of dykes & ponds on 18 will give us an additional water source to mains water. Currently if any hosepipe bans are put in place golf courses can still use mains water but it is expected as some stage this will change. Thanks to the long term vision of Dave and his crew, Heysham is ahead of the game with a more efficient irrigation system and more alternative water source options (18th).
The best is yet to come!
